And shot peening is another surface strengthening process. It uses steel shot, cast iron shot, glass shot and other pellets, which are sprayed at high speed onto the surface of the workpiece through high-pressure air or compressed air. The impact force of the pellets is used to form residual compressive stress on the surface of the workpiece, thereby improving the fatigue strength and wear resistance of the workpiece.
